Rock Solid Exteriors is not a Clinton Township roofer that drives in from somewhere else. Our office is at 42452 Hayes Road, and our crews have been replacing and repairing roofs across Macomb County since 1997. When your roof is leaking or simply worn out, we can usually be in your driveway within 5 to 15 minutes, whether you live near the Clinton River, off Metro Parkway or up by Hall Road.

Roofing Services for Clinton Township Homes
We do one thing on your roof: the whole job, done right, by crews who answer to our office down the road. That covers:
- Roof replacement: full tear-off down to the decking, replacement of any soft or rotted boards, new underlayment, flashing and shingles.
- Roof repair: leaks, missing or wind-torn shingles, failed pipe boots and flashing around skylights, vents and sidewalls.
- Asphalt shingle roofs from Owens Corning and CertainTeed in a wide range of colors.
- Metal roofing and metal shingles for homeowners who want a longer-lived, lower-maintenance roof.
- Roof ventilation and attic insulation, which matter as much as the shingles for preventing ice dams.
- Soffit, fascia and seamless gutters so water leaves the roof and gets away from your foundation.
- Storm damage inspections and insurance claim help.

Why Homeowners in Clinton Township Call Us
Clinton Township is our home base, and that changes how the job goes for you.
- We are minutes away. Our Hayes Road office is 5 to 15 minutes from nearly every street in the township. If something needs a second look after a storm, we are not scheduling it around a two-hour drive.
- Local crews since 1997. We have been roofing Macomb County homes for more than 25 years, and the people who sell, schedule and install your roof all work out of the same local office.
- Owens Corning Preferred Contractor. Owens Corning has credentialed and trained us to install its complete roofing systems, which lets us register Owens Corning system warranties on qualifying roofs. We also install CertainTeed roofing and belong to the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA).
- Siding and gutters under the same roof. James Hardie and Mastic also list us as a preferred siding contractor, so if the fascia or gutters need attention at the same time, one company handles it.
- Help with insurance. We inspect and photo-document storm and hail damage, explain honestly whether it looks worth a claim, and can meet your insurance adjuster at the house.
- 10% off for veterans.
Levi was very thorough in presenting our options and helping us find the right roof. The communication was excellent at every step, we knew exactly what to expect and when.

What Clinton Township Roofs Are Up Against
A lot of homes are on their second or third roof
Clinton Township is the most populous township in Michigan, and most of its houses were built in a fairly tight window. According to the township’s 2019 Master Plan, which uses SEMCOG and American Community Survey data, roughly 16,300 housing units were built between 1960 and 1979 and another 16,400 between 1980 and 1999, compared with fewer than 5,000 built since 2000. In practical terms, many ranches, colonials and condos here have already been re-roofed at least once. That matters because older tear-offs sometimes uncover a second layer of shingles, plank or worn decking, and flashing that was simply reused the last time around. We price your estimate after we have actually looked in the attic and on the roof, so those surprises are discussed before work starts, not halfway through.
Freeze-thaw and ice dams
Southeast Michigan winters swing above and below freezing again and again. When heat leaks from a living space into the attic, snow on the roof melts, runs down to the cold eaves and refreezes into a ridge of ice. Water then backs up under the shingles and shows up as stains on ceilings or exterior walls. On many older homes the real cause is thin attic insulation and poor airflow, not the shingles. That is why we look at intake and exhaust ventilation during every roof estimate, and why your estimate should spell out ice-and-water protection along the eaves and in the valleys.
Wind, trees and summer storms
Mature trees are a big part of the township’s older neighborhoods, and the North and Middle Branches of the Clinton River are lined with wooded wetland. They shade roofs, drop branches in summer thunderstorms and fill gutters every fall. After high winds, we see lifted shingle tabs and creased shingles that do not always leak right away but let water in the next time rain is driven sideways. If you spot shingle pieces in the yard, call us for a free inspection before the next storm.
How a Rock Solid Roof Replacement Works
- Free inspection and estimate. A project consultant walks the roof and attic, photographs problem areas and explains your options in plain language, including repair when repair makes sense.
- Choosing your roof. You pick the shingle line and color, or a metal option. We go over ventilation, flashing, gutters and anything else that should be handled at the same time.
- A written estimate. Materials, labor, disposal and permits are spelled out. Financing is available on approved credit if you would rather spread the cost out.
- Permits and scheduling. Rock Solid handles whatever permits Clinton Township requires, then books your crew and material delivery.
- Tear-off and installation. The old roof comes off, the decking is inspected and repaired where needed, and the new roof system goes on, including underlayment, flashing and ventilation.
- Cleanup. Old shingles, nails and packaging are cleaned up and hauled away, so you are not left with a dumpster’s worth of debris in the yard.
- Final walk-through and warranty. Your project lead walks the completed job with you, and the manufacturer warranty you qualify for gets registered. See our warranties page for how Owens Corning coverage works.
Cleanup is the part homeowners remember. One customer described what happened after their crew packed up:
Upon completion the workers all cleaned up, as did the crew leader. Later that day one more person came out to inspect and clean up with magnets. He was very thorough.

Clinton Township Roofing Questions
How do I know whether my Clinton Township roof needs a repair or a full replacement?
It usually comes down to age and how widespread the wear is. A leak around one pipe boot or a few shingles torn off after a storm is a repair. Curling or bald shingles across whole slopes, soft decking, or repeat leaks in different spots point to replacement. Because so many homes in the township went up between the 1960s and 1990s, plenty of roofs here are on their second or third set of shingles. We will show you photos from your own roof and tell you plainly which way we would go.
Do you handle the permit for a roof replacement in Clinton Township?
Yes. Permits are included in the job, so you do not have to visit the township building department yourself.
How long does a roof replacement take on a typical Clinton Township home?
It depends mostly on the size and pitch of the roof and how much decking has to be replaced once the old shingles come off. Your written estimate includes the expected schedule, and we will tell you up front if we see anything, like a second layer of shingles, that could add time.
Can you help if my roof was damaged in a storm and I want to file an insurance claim?
Yes. We inspect and photo-document storm and hail damage, explain honestly whether it looks worth a claim, and can meet your insurance adjuster at the house. The inspection is free, and your insurance company decides what your policy covers.
What does the roofing warranty cover?
As an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor we can register Owens Corning manufacturer roofing system warranties on qualifying roofs. These are manufacturer warranty options that depend on the system you choose, so ask for the terms on your roof. You can read more on our warranties page.
