Exposed Aggregate Concrete Projects
Exposed aggregate is concrete with the top layer of cement paste washed away so the rounded stones in the mix show through. The photos in this gallery show how versatile it is: backyard patios, a patio that wraps a pool as a pool deck, a patio beside a sunroom, front porches, walkways and steps.
A few things to look for as you scroll:
- Texture and grip. The exposed stones give traction underfoot, which is why exposed aggregate is popular on steps and around pools.
- How it hides wear. The varied stone colors hide dirt, leaves and footprints far better than plain gray concrete.
- Porch and walk combinations. Several projects carry the same finish from the front walk up onto the porch and steps, which ties the entry together.
The color of exposed aggregate comes mostly from the stone blend, so the same finish can look warm or cool depending on the stone. We will show you real examples at your estimate.
