- Color. Brick has its own undertones, usually red, orange, brown or gray. Siding that fights those undertones looks off even if both are attractive on their own. We bring samples to hold against your brick in daylight.
- Transitions. Where siding meets brick, the flashing and trim have to shed water off the brick ledge and away from the wall. This is a common leak point on older installations.
- Trim lines. Corner posts, frieze boards and window trim can either blend in or become a design feature. Wider trim often suits larger colonials.

Vinyl siding

Richer and darker vinyl colors can make the sides and back of a brick-front home look intentional rather than an afterthought. Insulated vinyl adds rigidity and a flatter look on long walls.
James Hardie fiber cement
James Hardie fiber cement has deeper shadow lines and a painted-wood look that pairs naturally with brick on traditional homes. Hardie’s HZ5 products are designed for climates with freezing temperatures, snow and ice. As a James Hardie Select Contractor, we install it to the manufacturer’s specifications, including required clearances at roofs, decks and grade.
Versetta Stone and specialty siding
Versetta Stone panels give the look of stone without a mason, and they work well as a wainscot along the bottom of a wall or around an entry. They can also carry the look of a stone front around to the sides of a house. For gables and dormers, shake-look siding adds texture, and metal siding is an option for a more contemporary look.
Soffit, Fascia and Gutters in One Project
The roofline is part of the exterior design, and it is also where a lot of water damage starts. When we replace siding, we look at:
- Fascia behind old aluminum wrap, which often hides rotted wood.
- Soffit panels and venting, which affect attic ventilation.
- Gutters, since new seamless gutters sized to the roof keep water off new siding and away from the foundation.

What Happens Under the Old Siding
Once old siding comes off, we can see the wall. We check sheathing for soft spots, look at how windows and doors were flashed, and install house wrap before new siding goes on. If we find rot, we show you and explain the repair and cost before we cover it. On homes built before 1978, painted trim and old wood siding call for EPA lead-safe work practices during removal, and we plan for that.
