About this project
A full driveway replacement on Canterbury Drive in Sterling Heights. In the photo you can see where the new, lighter concrete meets the older apron at the street.
The saw-cut joints form an even grid across the slab. They give the concrete a planned place to crack as it shrinks and as the ground moves through Michigan winters.
What we did
- Removed the old driveway between the street apron and the garage
- Poured a new broom-finished driveway sized to the two-car garage
- Saw-cut control joints in a grid to manage cracking
- Finished the new slab cleanly against the existing apron at the street
